Welcome Back 2017-17
Red Raider Pride is City Wide
Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to the beginning of the 2016 2017 school year.
A new school year presents opportunities for various beginnings: new classes, new courses, and of course, new faces. As we approach opening day, there is a feeling of a fresh start in the air, an exciting newness to the upcoming school year. We have much to achieve this year at Harvey in our classrooms, in our offices, on our playing fields and stages but our achievements are not due to complacency and satisfaction with the status quo. Our program is what it is because a number of dedicated, aspiring people have a common goal to do what is best for students.
Below, I have outlined some important information regarding building policy or procedures. Please be sure to review this information.
As always, all students are to earn 21 credits to graduate.
High School students are required to pay to participate in all athletic programs and cheerleading. Remember ~ If you want to participate you must pay your participation fees. Contact Mr. Hartmann, AD at 3925150 with any questions.
The Dress Code: Students must be in traditional pants (khaki, blue, OR black) and a collared shirt. No jeans or cargo pants. Students are required to wear belts. Students are permitted to wear striped polos or shirts, including argyle. Students are permitted to wear any hooded school spirit wear sweatshirt or a solid color hooded sweatshirt with small logos (quarter in size). All clothes must be properly fitting. Please refer to the student handbook/website for the full Academic Dress Policy.
Parents are always welcome to help or visit Harvey! Please call the office if you would like to volunteer or to visit for just a day. Most teachers prefer a 24 hour notice, but arrangements can be made. Please call if you are interested.
Harvey High School’s start time is 7:15. Students can begin eating breakfast at 6:50. The school day ends at 2:03. Every Tuesday is a late arrival day and school will begin at 7:40 a.m.
