Harvey Basketball Players Thank Various PCLS Employees During Half Time Ceremony

Harvey High School basketball players honored a select group of PCLS employees at the home basketball game against Independence on Thursday, February 16, 2017 during halftime.

Earlier in the season, Harvey Basketball Coach Wojciechowski asked all 12 members of the varsity basketball team to identify a teacher or employee from Painesville City Local Schools who has made a positive impact on their growth as young men and to write an appreciation letter to that person that impacted them academically, socially and/or athletically. The players honored these 12 individuals as a community and wrote very compelling stories as to why and how the person they chose impacted them.

“It is great to see the positive influence our teachers have on our students, and it will be great to recognize their efforts,” said Coach Wojciechowski.

All teachers were honored individually at halftime of the boys varsity game. Their families and community members were invited to support and experience such moving and inspirational night.

The following PCLS members were honored at the halftime ceremony:

Mr. Jeremy Patty - Harvey Business Teacher

Mr. Rod Coffee - Heritage Coach/Monitor

Mr. Michael Wright - Harvey Math Teacher

Mrs. Shannon Alfonso - Heritage Science Teacher

Mrs. Checole Andrews - Heritage Social Studies Teacher

Mr. Ed Blasier - Harvey Intervention Specialist

Mr. Amir Jones - Harvey Music/Band Instructor

Mrs. Colleen Bergmann - Harvey English Teacher

Mr. Marwin Walling - Heritage Social Studies Teacher
