The Broadmoor Bobcats are a team of developmentally delayed students who attend Broadmoor School. Week after week these exceptional student basketball players take on area high school teams. Harvey High School is just one team to accept the challenge and take on the Bobcats in their home court.
The Harvey Red Raiders and coaches put on a basketball clinic for the Broadmoor team after having lunch with them. The Red Raiders got to tour all classrooms in the building and got the chance to sit in on 2 preschool classes, where the players interacted and played with the students from Broadmoor. They did activities such as build legos, play with play dough and build arts and crafts with students.
"It was great to see our kids interact with such grace and excitement!" said Coach Wojciechowski.
Thank you to Harvey Basketball Coach, David Wojciechowski who worked with Coach Ann Vespa, Broadmoor's adaptive physical education teacher, to coordinate the visit to the school and this very rewarding and valuable event.
And in case you were wondering about the score, the Bobcats beat the Red Raiders, 62-60.
