The class will be selling their product at different locations and events like the Downtown Painesville Organization’s Holiday Walk in November.
During the manufacturing, students were split into different sections at a commercial kitchen; melting the chocolate, dipping the pretzels in the melted chocolate, cooling down the dipped pretzels and packaging and branding in a different section.
Ms. Rapport, ECITY teacher, believes that this project gives the students an opportunity to explore the manufacturing of a product, learn the beginning steps of a business plan and improve their marketing strategies.
Ms. Rapport, Business teacher at Harvey, Tim Kehres from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio and two former ECITY students were assisting and supervising students while working on the manufacturing of their product.
Thank you to the First Church Congretational for letting the ECITY class use the commercial kitchen to work on this project and to Tim Kehres for his mentorship and support.
